Tom's Birthday!

 Today was Tom's birthday.  A number of people emailed or texted him to wish him a Happy Birthday, and Linda prepared him some of his favorite food (shepherds pie) and cake (carrot).  

Also, since it was his birthday, he had to do the dishes (or at least a few of them).

The weather was great for most of the day, so a lot of work got done on the Solar Arrays

Notice that the base below the structure is solid and somewhat reflective.  The Solar Modules we are installing can receive some of their sunlight from below the module as well as from direct sun.  This is a new technology.

The work in the PowerPac went very well today.  We finished installing the wire trough, drilled twenty-seven 1" conduit holes, nine 3/4" holes, and eight additional 2" holes without losing a single pilot bit.  Wires were pulled in between containers for the batteries, all batteries in place in the Battery Container were torqued and finished with the wiring.

Miguel is the Mastermind overseeing the Solar installation.

In  the afternoon we shut down the work because we were invited to a weekly Family Church.  Before the service several of the guys went up the kill to Kibuye Rock, which overlooks the hospital complex.

This required walking through the town of Kibuye and interracting with many of the local people.

Please pray for our next two who coming, Joseph and Jonathan.  They are presently on their way to Brussels and then to Bujumbura.  Pray that their flights are on time and that they can get through Customs ok in Bujumbura.

Tomorrow is Sunday and we will attend church at 8 here at Kibuye, then have a brunch with staff at 10am.  After that we are planning to take a trip to a local waterfall.  As hard as everyone has worked this week it will be a good time to unwind.
